WorkTech: Designing work that works

What is WorkTech?

WorkTech is the infrastructure for how modern work gets done. It unites the systems, workflows, access and support that employees rely on – from the moment they’re hired to the day they offboard.

This unification is people-centric by design. It spans both the HR and IT domains to deliver one connected, experience-driven environment, where employees can find the information they need, do their jobs securely and stay productive with minimal internal friction.

The tipping point in WorkTech

The workplace is at a turning point when it comes to how organizations think about workforce enablement. Instead of considering technology a support function, they must treat it as the foundation of how work happens, how people engage and how businesses grow. This shift is creating pressure points and, at the same time, new opportunities for HR and IT to collaborate.

Rethinking the role of HR in the age of WorkTech

As the workforce becomes more dynamic and data and automation become mainstays of the modern workplace, traditional approaches to people management are no longer enough. People leaders now need the skills, language and strategic understanding to co-create digital workflows with IT, embrace the power of data confidently and deploy digital platforms.

Compliance convergence

Gaps in security and data practices can cause fragmented systems, incomplete offboarding and unclear accountabilities – all of which expose organizations to serious vulnerabilities. HR and IT must share ownership of compliance to help minimize these risks and complete tasks more efficiently.

The employee experience mandate

Employees today expect seamless, intuitive and consumer-grade experiences from the moment they engage with an employer. Yet, most midmarket organizations still rely on fragmented processes and legacy systems that fail to meet those expectations. HR and IT must close the gap between what employees want and what they receive to create an environment that attracts, enables and retains top talent.

The operational engine behind HR-IT convergence

Shared systems and processes not only reduce complexity and eliminate redundancies, but also unlock faster time to productivity and ensure tighter controls across career journeys. For instance, what if every workforce moment – onboarding, promotion, offboarding – automatically triggered the right IT actions? Instead of reactive scrambling, HR and IT teams would operate from a shared system of truth in which access, status and activity are always in sync.
