Retirement Planning Mutual Gains

Due to the recent recession and slow recovery, many of today’s workers are struggling to save for a secure retirement. The Employment Benefit Research Institute’s (EBRI) latest Retirement Confidence Survey shows a steady decline since 2009 among American workers who say they are saving for retirement, down from the peak of nearly three-quarters before the recession took hold to 66 percent in 2012. In addition, more than two-thirds of workers say they feel behind when it comes to retirement readiness — a 12 percent rise since 2005 when the economy was thriving. A new report by the ADP Research Institute℠, a specialized group within ADP, explores how these trends present a valuable opportunity for employers to help their employees understand how to plan for retirement, while at the same time creating an advantage for their firm in the race to hire and retain the best talent moving forward.
