Can I reverse a direct deposit credit? If so, how long will it take?
Yes, direct deposits can be reversed. To do so, you should notify your ADP
Client Service Representative (CSR) or Key Account Manager (KAM) as soon as
possible. ADP will make every effort to process direct deposit reversals the
same day they are received and will credit your account within three business
days. Reversals can only be processed within five business days of check date.
If the reversal is rejected at the employee's bank, the amount will be charged
back to your account.

What form is used for reporting new hires?
If you report new hires yourself, you may use Form W-4, an optional state
form, or your own equivalent form. If you use ADP's New Hire Reporting
service, ADP will ensure that your new hire data is submitted in a format that
conforms to your state's guidelines.

What is ADP's New Hire Reporting service and how can it benefit my
ADP offers a simple and affordable way to help you comply with new hire reporting
laws. We take responsibility for accurately completing the required information
for all your newly-hired employees (regardless of the states in which they work),
helping you reduce the risk of fines for non-compliance and giving you more time
to focus on other important issues.

What is the deadline for reporting new hires?
Federal legislation requires that new hires be reported within 20 days of the
hire date. It also states that if you use electronic or magnetic media, you
must submit new hire data in two monthly transmissions not less than 12 or
more than 16 days apart. However, your state agency may have more stringent
requirements. If your company does its own reporting, click
here for more new hire reporting information, including a list of state
reporting time limits.
If you are an ADP NHR client, ADP will manage the deadlines for you. To ensure
reporting in the shortest time frame, you should always input new employee data
with the first payroll following the start date.

Where can ADPChecks be cashed?
Employees can always cash checks at their own bank in accordance with normal check cashing
rules and, in most cases, an ADPCheck can be cashed at the ADP partner bank issuing the check. Employers can also make arrangements with their bank to honor ADPChecks. Grocery stores and check cashing operations are other possible alternatives.

Will ADP's New Hire Reporting service require a State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) number if I am a SUI exempt employer?
To eliminate reporting discrepancies, it is important that you have a SUI number.
Employers who are exempt from state unemployment insurance may still apply.
Complete the section of the application form typically reserved for SUI exempt
employers and the state will issue a SUI number to you. If upon filing the application,
the state advises that they will not provide a SUI number, forward a copy of
the response to your ADP payroll representative for review and resolution.

Am I able to obtain a copy of an ADPCheck?
Since this service eliminates check reconciliations, the need to obtain a copy
of an ADPCheck is rare. Should one of your employees fail to receive a check,
you may want to refer to the list of paychecks detailed in your payroll register
to determine if an oversight has occurred.
If you still need verification of a check, contact your Client Service Representative (CSR) or Key Account Manager (KAM). If we find that the missing check has not
cleared, you will need to complete a Stop Payment Request & Indemnification Form. If the missing check has cleared, your Client Service Representative or Key Account Manager can submit a request for a photocopy of the check.

Am I required to tell employees about their rights to unemployment insurance benefits?
Most states require that employers display a poster specifying employee rights to unemployment insurance benefits. Some states also require employers to supply claimants with separation notice forms when a separation occurs.
-
Am I responsible for check reconcilements when I use ADPCheck?
No. Using ADPCheck enables you to eliminate the time-consuming responsibility of reconciling paychecks against your payroll account. Your account is debited for your total net payroll, so you need only reconcile the total amount of each payroll against your monthly bank statements.

Are employers required by law to honor wage garnishment orders?
Yes. The Family Support Act of 1988 requires employers to calculate, deduct, and disburse court-ordered garnishments from an employee's earnings.
In addition to facing fines and penalties, a company that fails to garnish the proper deductions may become responsible for its employees' actual payments.
